CommonMind Consortium
Description
The CommonMind Consortium is a public-private partnership bringing together area knowledge, large scale and well-curated brain sample collections, data management and analysis expertise. The consortium has a goal to generate and analyze large-scale genomic data from human subjects with neuropsychiatric disease and to make these data and the associated analytical results broadly available to qualified investigators. The consortium is generating multiple data modalities (e.g. RNA and DNA sequencing, genotyping, epigenetics) across multiple brain regions from individuals with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and unaffected controls on a collection of more than 1,000 individuals. Details of the currently released data are available on the CommonMind Consortium Knowledge Portal.
Access to Data
Access to the CommonMind Consortium data is managed by the NRGR Access Request system, but the data are distributed through the Synapse system. To access the CommonMind data, applicants must first register for a Synapse account and obtain a Synapse data access token on the CommonMind Consortium Knowledge Portal. Applicants must then complete a NRGR access request. The applicant's Synapse token must be included with the NRGR submission package along with the other required documents. Investigators using CommonMind data in publications should include this acknowledgement.
Please note that the NRGR does not have any biomaterials associated with the CommonMind Consortium data.
Funding and Leadership
The CommonMind Consortium is funded by Takeda Pharmaceuticals Company Limited, F. Hoffman-La Roche Ltd and NIH grants R01MH085542, R01MH093725, P50MH066392, P50MH080405, R01MH097276, R01MH075916, P50M096891, P50MH084053S1, R37MH057881, AG02219, AG05138, MH06692, R01MH110921, R01MH109677, R01MH109897, U01MH103392, and contract HHSN271201300031C through IRP NIMH. Brain tissue for the study was obtained from the following brain bank collections: the Mount Sinai NIH Brain and Tissue Repository, the University of Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s Disease Core Center, the University of Pittsburgh NeuroBioBank and Brain and Tissue Repositories, and the NIMH Human Brain Collection Core.
